Mazdaspeed Seat Install

Hi guys, well i bought some mazdaspeed type f seats for my vert. I have read up a bunch on other complaints about seats being to high or too wide but i figured since these were designed for mazda they should be fine. i finally settled on sparco seat base because i read that they were very low as well. i don't know if the sparco people have ever used these in an actual fc but what an ordeal. on the drivers side back inner bolt there is no way to insert the bolt to the car once the seat is in place, i tried for hours with different tools, its just not possible with the angle. i eventually cut a slot in the base to slide the base over the one bolt that i installed about 3/4 of the way. after that i was just able to tighten it. pain in the ass!!

approx 3 hours to install drivers side, 10 mins to remove and install passenger! lol.

Anyways perfect fitment, drivers seat sits lower then the stock seat which surprised me. and definetly can't gain any weight!

Man such a nice pair of seats, seems to fit perfect. How's the passenger height compared to stock ?

Also, look like a nice center console carbon trim, is it a Retro-Spec unit ?

thanks man, the passenger seat does sit about about an inch higher, it hasn't bugged anyone sitting in the passenger side but when you look at one bolster compared to the other bolster, one sits higher at the console.

yep the center console is from retro spec one along with a cf pod cluster on the dash. love it. since this pic was taken i have made a carbon cup holder as well.

Wich model sparco seat base you have used?
After the experience, u suggest something different?
Because I got mazdaspeed seat too, without rails(they are on way). And I do not know how to mount them

You had a hard time with that rear bolt because you didn't slide the seat forward while trying to get at the bolt!
