Intake Air Temp Sensor
Soooo. . .It's pretty known that getting a new IAT for a 86 N/A is impossible to get. But I have heard of a triumph, GM, or other IAT, that can work in the same hole if you tap it out for 1/8" NPT. . . . What IAT would be a drop in replacement?
The problem I am having, I believe is related to heat soak. I can park the car, go into a store and upon restarting, I find the car will struggle to get up on a rev for the first couple seconds. I suspect it's due to the IAT. I'll pull the IAT and do the resistance vs temp check. I remember seeing a thread on here in which some guy put up a graph of resistance vs temp for the IAT. . .But for the life of me I can't find it... . .Anybody got any links to pages where that info might be useful to me?. . .Thanks. . here you go, there are a couple different types of sensor, and the FD uses the other type, basically its backwards.
there must be a compatible sensor somewhere, although finding it is hard as its usually not listed by sensor type https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...b1b5710a70.jpg |
That chart is useful.. . ... Thanks. .

If you really want one you can buy a beat up old upper intake on ebay and pull it off that. I did that recently for the turbo and got a working one off it.

just going drop this here....
http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/troubl.../20vcoolt.html not sure it if it has the appropriate time constant, but the resistance curve looks darn similar. |
