Fuel Pump Issue- Haltech Sport 1000 S5 6 Port Turbo FC

Hi guys,

I've just installed a Haltech Sport 1000 for my S5 6 port turbo project and somehow the car will only run if I bypass the fuel pump.
I'm using a custom patch harness. Any suggestions what could be the problem?

Thanks

more info please. does the car run better with the fuel pump not running? or is the wire you are disconnecting doing something else?

basically is it a tuning/map/haltech issue or is it wired wrong?

Hey man,

With the stock ecu connected the car starts up and idles fine. If I install the Haltech Sport 1000 the car would start up and for about 5 seconds and dies. If I use a piece of wire to jump and bypass the fuel pump it starts and idles fine. I wired the Haltech fuel pump input straight into my ecu factory loom.

I use the two pin yellow connector on passenger side near strut tower.

ah, 1K is the fuel pump SPEED, it switches the pump from 9v to 12v

3k is the fuel pump relay, Mazda calls it a circuit opening relay

Save yourself a lot of future hassle and ditch the stock EFI/emissions harness. Run a new hardness with the Haltech harness. If you need to run the stock ECU for testing, run them in parallel.
