Defi gauge install regarding using a distribution block.
So recently I got a new dash to replace my old cracked one. My question is, is there another way for me to install extra accessories besides using vampire clips? I'd rather not have a whole slew of wires being vampired into the harness that has all those necessary wires. I never used a distribution block but I saw them being used on some hardcore builds. I plan to reinstall my defi gauges and tein edfc as well as having a simple place for the future. Thanks guys

There's plenty of ways. You can use a distribution block as you mentioned. Or do a proper splice into a 12V power source if there's only one accessory. If you have an unused fuse opening in the fuse block, wire into that. On my first RX-7, I gave power to an electric fan from an unused opening in the engine bay fuse block. It was a very clean install and I could use the size PAL fuse I needed for the fan. You could do something similar and run a thick gauge wire to a distribution block and then separately fuse the accessories.
Basically, there are a lot of ways other than vampire clips. |
you can small ones for under $20, small fuse blocks if you have the space or just a distribution block by itself itself, even just a power post.
the boating industry uses these forever. |
