Best rear mufflers for N/A rx7 fc?
 

I just bought an rx7 fc with a partial racing beat exhaust system. Everything from the headers to the middle muffler is racing beat, but everything after that is just a bunch of random pipes and muffler clamps. I want to re do everything that isnt racing beat by cutting and welding the pipes properly, and adding some exhausts in the back because right now the car is very loud and it doesnt sound very good. I was looking at some generic exhausts that I think would work , like this one. If anyone has any other muffler recommendations around $60-$70 (It will be a dual exhaust, so a total of about $150) please let me know. As long as they fit and they sound decent, that will work.

Your best choice currently is Racing Beat. Sounds like their cat-back system will replace all you want fixed. Unfortunately it's way over your budget. As for that muffler you linked to it tells nothing about it. My guess is it's a cheap HKS knock-off with very little packing and will be loud. You want stainless steel wool packing and for a n/a, and 2 inch dia. piping for each rear muffler in the dual system.You could use 2 1/4 inch it'll just be a touch louder. I've not used them but the Borla boomers look like the would work but they're $200 ea. I think a Rotary exhaust under $150 and not too loud is gonna be mission impossible.

Do not get racingbeat. Build your own exhaust, have 2 vibrant mufflers in the middler, and a can or anything you want on the end depending how quiet you want it.

I forgot about the Vibrant stuff I've heard some good things about them.

All I've ever used is Racing Beat. The reason for this is standard aftermarket mufflers do not hold up the the exhaust temperatures. Lower quality mufflers can split and the packing will burn up. In 20 years of using their exhausts, I've never had an issue with a Racing Beat exhaust component.

Racing beat is great because it's bolt on, and the quality speaks for itself as the standard in our community. That being said, I've tried a few other combos that i really like.

One is a racing beat presilencer and a borla muffler. The muffler i used was the xr1 race pipe. Its a little on the louder side but has a very nice tone. This has been on the car for the better part of 10 years

The second one is a vibrant presilencer and a vibrant muffler, i used the TPV muffler. Nice tone as well and its been on the car for the last 5 years without issue.

Don't forget Racing Beat's universal stuff. I've done a lot of looking at mufflers on Jegs and Summit Racing and the smallest pipe that most of the brands they carry's straight thru style offers is 2.5"(excluding some Borla stuff).Magnaflow may say 2&1/4" but they use a 2.5" core. If you have to use that size to fab something of your own, might as well use the Racing Beat stuff that's known to last. It's not that much more expensive. I just wish they made a universal muffler with a 2" or 2.25" core. I guess their universal stuff is geared more towards racing where everybody goes to a single, hence the larger diameters only.
