Best place to buy manual steering rack for 88?

I've searched and alot of the links go to companies or sites that aren't around any more. Does anyone know where to buy a manual rack for my 88? I'm looking to remove the PS system. It appears Autozone sells reman units, or I could try to locate junkyard part. Once I am able I will try the classified section as well, but in the meantime if anyone knows someone who still sells them let me know. Thank you!

Used is the only way to find them anymore, the bushings are different too, and they are just as hard to find

You CAN depower your power rack

I read good and bad about depowering it, and some part of me just wants a native manual rack that is intended to be. I'll check classifieds in a bit then, thank you!

Be aware that the ratio on the true manual rack is slower (20:1) than either of the power racks (17:1 or 15:1).
This is inherently neither good or bad, just different.

I'd recommend depowering your current rack as well, it's not that difficult (although it does require some cutting of the center seal, welding of the quill and blocking off the hose fitting ports) and will obviously drop right back in. Replace the inner/outer tie rod ends and you're about as good as you'll get.

I've tried all three ratios and for my street car application, prefer the true manual's slower ratio because it makes slow speed maneuvering with my bigger tires/wheels a bit easier. That would also be a consideration if you have a smaller than stock steering wheel.

Whatever you do, don't just remove the belt from your stock pump to "see what it'll be like" because all you'll discover is that crippled power racks suck.
