86 RX7 value
Hello, I have a 1986 Mazda RX-7 Base model with no air conditioning or power steering. I'm the original owner, and am trying to figure out how much it is worth. It's in great shape with everything original except for the stereo, and has 140,000 miles. Is there a god place someone can recommend to determine its value? All the websites I have checked don't go back to my year. Thanks in advance.

nada price guide:
NADA kelley blue book is sucking now, for everything. by your description it might fall somewhere between average and high, if only very minor wear and tear is present. these numbers are actually inflated but a good starting point for talking down to a reasonable price from. nada actually lists my 87 TII at a mid rating of $12k and high of $20k, which is about twice what the market suggests in reality. i've never seen even a clean TII sell for $20k unless it was in showroom original condition. if kelley blue book went back that far it would probably suggest a $500 value, so they both are a bit out of keel. a good clean unmolested well maintained n/a would probably go for about $3k-5k with the right buyer. while it is nice to see the value actually going back up again, finding someone with the cash who wants your particular car is the most difficult part. |
Thanks, the NADA site really helped!

Hagerty is a good source too. Usually very close to NADA which can only confirm the value.

Thanks!

I'd say NADA and Hagerty. KBB is usually way to high or way to low and not very realistic.
