4-port swap into na chassis
 

I’m looking at putting a 4-port motor into my na chassis and I was kind of wondering what I would be getting myself into. I’m assuming at bare minimum it’s going to require me getting the intake and engine harness to run it.

the good thing about it is you can literally bolt on whatever you want to run, so it's probably not as complicated as you think. i don't think that anything the ECU actually cares about is something that wasn't already on the Turbo block. details will matter, of course.

for a few reasons, you'll probably want to run the 6-port intake on it though.

If you run the 6-port intake then all the various plugs on the n/a harness will be right where they were to begin with. I think the hardest part as far as bolting a TII block into a n/a car is the port matching of the 6-port lower intake manifold to the TII block. It bolts right up. You could run the TII intakes but there have been various discussions about it and many are of the opinion of the sharp turn the TII LIM makes to clear the turbo causes a restriction and hurts power thus it is better to port the 6-port LIM to match and use the 6-port intakes.

ETA: Also you would use the flywheel for the transmission and series engine you are using. So if you have a Series 4 ('86-'88) and are going to use your n/a transmission you will use a S4 n/a flywheel on your TII block, or an aftermarket lightweight flywheel and S4 rear counterweight. Counterweight is built into the stock flywheel. It is not on an aftermarket. They bolt to the counterweight that an auto trans car's flex plate bolted to instead on a flywheel.
