2nd gen vs 3rd gen
I'm a noob when it comes to rotarys and rx7s in general. My question to you guys is, besides the body what's the difference between 2nd and 3rd gen rx7s? In my area I can get a second gen pretty reasonable. Is it comparable or faster than the 3rd? Just a noob looking for help

Nothing but heritage in common. You should probably Google them and compare specs, much easier than having me or anyone else trying to list everything different. In stock form, there is no comparison, the Gen 3 is better in every quantifiable way. One thing I will say is rotaries require passion. Their quirks do not lend themselves to just any mechanic or gearhead, so you will either have to have the passion required to learn how to keep them happy, or have the money to pay someone that knows how to keep them happy for you. That applies to the Gen 2 and maybe even a bit more for the Gen 3. if your sole reason for getting the Gen 2 is that it's available or more affordable, then skip it. If you choose to proceed, then you're in the right place. Just do your due diligence before you post your questions. |
