I have some pics of the 1st prototype but the circunference was too small. I will keep you posted. Also the benefit over the adapter plate is that the bellhousing also acts like a scatter shield since its SFI certified. and no customization, it would be a complete bolt on, we are working on a full kit just to drop it in a FD.

This sounds like the final solution.

Can't wait to see the product.

Any compatibility with 13B rear irons (auto only I assume)

I think I just found my tranny. It's a Tr-6060 out of a Mustang Gt500. They also have the triple cone syncros and are rated for 600 ft lbs. Since my 20b is moved back, I could easily modify the shifter linkage on top to mate with my shifter. It's very close to where I need the linkage to be. I also just recently acquired an Fd auto bellhousing and have already gotten it to clear the firewall. I just need to get a busted tranny to make sure it will clear the tunnel.

Gear ratios:
1st 2.97
2nd 1.78
3rd 1.30
4th 1.00
5th .80
6th .63

do you still have to use the auto starter? i want to keep mine in the manual starter location if posible. The bellhousing ur sending to get made isnt as big as the chevy one right by the looks of the picture?

Not sure which one they are using, by the way I have one of the prototype bellhousing a for sale and also a t56 conversion torque arm brand new don't need it for the magnum conversion.

In addition to an N/A engine in a high rpm application, will the standard fd transmission hold?

TwinCharged RX7 11-16-12 07:40 PM

Yes

RotaryEvolution 11-16-12 08:44 PM

problem is the turbo trannies are very notchy when spun that high.

Will the t-56 tranny fit in a fc without to much modifications ?

I did alot of research before going with the T56 magnum. it's the best transmission out there. Price brand new its around $2800-$2900, stock it can handle 700 torque, 6 speed transmission and parts for it are very available. Also if you would like to handle more than 700 torque several companies offer upgrades up to 1200hp and even with the best upgraded you are probably looking at $6000-$7000 for the entire trans and it would be a transmission that can hold 1200hp and be completely streetable transmission. I considered the V160 but for a new one it cost around 6000+ plus it probably can only handle around 700hp reliable, but when they break they are very expensive to fix and not alot of people know how to work on them and the ones that know are alot of $$$$$$$. so for me it was a easy choice to go with the t56 magnum. also im working with a company to develop a custom SFI certified bellhousing that will bolt on to the t56 magnum and to the 3 rotor. so it would be a bolt on kit. also on all other parts so it would be a complete bolt on kit for the FD's. Hope it helps.

Has the bolt up kit for the t56 come out yet to hook up to the 20b? If so how much and also. Is that using stock subframe from a 13b? I use a custom oil pan and motor mounts. So myb20b sets in tue same position as my 13b did.

Most of the parts are already available only finishing up on the driveshaft but that its all custom for each car when you provide measurements and transmission mount this can also be somewhat custom depending where you installed the engine. if you have questions feel free to PM me.

havent tried it on a FC but i think is pretty much the same as the FD some custom parts needed.
