Running new braided fuel lines on an FD

I am building a 20B conversion and been reading about people swapping out the smaller OEM hard lines that run from the tank to a -8 feed line and -6 return.
I have looked at a few posts about this and seen people doing it various ways. I need to get a bit more info on this. I was thinking of leaving the short sections of line that come out of the top of the fuel hatch and then attaching and AN fitting direct to this then running lines to the front and to a junction where I can then run to the fuel rails regulator.
I have not had much experience with AN fittings so I don't know if I can attach one direct to the hardline and if so how I go about it? Do I need to cut the end off, slip on the female part of the AN fitting and then get a swaging tool to bell over the end of the pipe or will the AN fitting do that itself?

What do you do with the fuel breather pipe? Disconnect or leave and connect up to the LIM somewhere? As I recall this goes via a little canister and one way valve on the 13B. Not sure what to do with it on the 20B?

Advice much appreciated.

This is what I did -6 feed and return works great everything is Teflon I got it all from anfittings direct except the hardline adapters those came with my FFE fuel rails same with the fuel filter. It's not particularly hard to do just time consuming and prepare to bleed when building the lines. I removed most of the vent stuff including the charcoal canister and left the top of the tank exactly how you see it in the picture. -8 would have been preferable but I never plan on making more power than what the BNRs make sequential. If you have any other questions or want more pictures just ask. Oh and btw spring for the coated line so the stainless steel braids don't tear anything up its more work to build but worth the peace of mind.
