oil cooler in front of radiator?

I was wondering if anyone put the oil cooler in front of the radiator with good results. It will simplify things and decrease nose-weight for me significantly. I have been reading on mocal website and it says that oil cooler in front of radiator doesn't affect the coolant temp significantly. I also want to get rid of side oil coolers for possible cold air intake in the near future... any thoughts? thanks!

I have my oil cooler set up like that. Works perfectly.

Mine is an FC oiler cooler and I have it mounted up hard against the radiator.

that's encouraging. That's your only oil cooler? any increase in water temp after oil cooler install? thanks man.

No not at all. Its never been an issue. There is proberly 5mm between the two. I have a shrouded 3000cfm fan pulling too.

Might keep in mind that the stock setup on a FC has the oil cooler mounted in front of the radiator. But it is quite big, long and thick (thats what she said )

there are a few different ways this can work. it does seem like having the coolers in the FD locations, really frees up space in the middle for IC/Radiator.

anyways, the trick is to get proper airflow, the FC cooler, with a FMIC has a hard time, because it doesn't get a lot of air.

the 1st gens have two more options. the early 1st gens had the oil cooler mounted under the radiator, so the fan just goes over both. it works great.

the competition catalog has a setup with a bigger radiator, and they put the oil cooler in the front, they show another option, which works great if you have room. you mount the cooler horizontally, it needs a little duct, but a simple flap works, and the cooler works great.

I have my air to water cooler in front of my rad and don't have any issues.
