Oem D code engine limits?
I am curious to know how much power people have made reliably out of a OEM d code engine ? I tuned Rob's the other day, and we are considering going back for the 1000rwhp mark. ( Ran out of time, race gas and the dyno got too hot on this session ). There seems to be a lot of controversy near this power mark on an oem build. Looking for first hand information here...

If there was an issue I would think the water temp at least would show it. Oil temp we're good too. |

? I made 10 pulls near and past the 800rwhp mark and we just did the 1/2 mile without a single issue.

we made 916 whp on a pretty stock 20b with a precision 7675 gen2 .
check forcefedracing's website for the video. |

A little update for those who are interested;
Same block now making 928rwhp; Going for more tomorrow, curious to see what breaks first. |
Have not seen any issues with 1000rwhp on the 20b.

What's reliable? Certainly lasting a few dyno pulls and going 1/2 miles ain't it. I ran 700whp hard for about 10k miles on 91octane before a bad tune threw a side seal. It's D code, but mine has aftermarket shaft. Rotors and housings were pristine inside when taken apart. Given already a low number of 20b owners, different type of fuels being used, aux injection, and even selected number running C or D code, I'm not sure we have more than a few data point here. But that's mine! 10k hard miles on 91 octane running ~700whp before a bad tune threw side seal. I really think it would've lasted another 70k if I didn't change the tune on it when going with new ECU. The most it made was tad over 800whp on 93 octane but I set it lower when I moved out to the west. Will be following others' responses. Thanks for the question.
