what kind of gas mileage do you guys get w/ 20b's. it must suck, mine already sucks w/ just a 2-rotor.

With the stock computer (like our Canadian friend NOW) I am getting 16 to 18 mpg U.S. If I behaved, but what the point in that be - it is a 20B afterall, I could possible squeak out 20 mpg. With an after market EMS or modified computer (ie., big HP) 11 to 13 mpg U.S.

My 20B Cosmo gives reasonable consumption considering what it is.

Took wife & child on a trip from Sydney (Oz) to Brisbane for a distance of 1000km (approx)

Got around 600km for 80 lt of petrol (driving easy)

7.5km per litre.

What that is in old fashioned mpg. I simply don't know.

3Rotor 05-18-03 08:18 AM

O.K., I have to do this when figuring out my mileage...

1 km is .62 miles - 7.5 km is (7.5 *.62) 4.65 miles
1 gallon is 3.79 litres
4.65 miles * 3.79 = 17.6235 mpg

And that is in the range I am experiencing.

Thanks for that 3ROTOR.

17mpg is pretty average I guess, but that the price you pay for owning a 20B powered car. I've not heard of them getting any better than that in standard form. Although I have heard how much worse they get...... :(

I sold a Cosmo to a guy from PAC performance (SYD) & he is a known lead foot in a rotary. Rang me up a few weeks later saying he is getting 280km from 80Lt.

3.5km / litre

or

8.2 mpg

I expect thats about the worst a stock 20B Cosmo will get if your a constant lead foot like good ole George.

Not bad considering the next coolest vehicle, the M1 tank, gets 4 gallons to the mile;)

Attila the Fun 05-19-03 04:17 PM

13.5 mpg for mixed city/hwy driving (daily commute)
16.5 cruising on the highway.

Searching for 20B info and came upon this quote, which had me cracking up.

Miss you bud.

Damn that's on hell of a bump. I've also been averaging 15-16mpg on the highway. I can't wait to see what it improves to when I install the T56 and drop that cruising rpm down to around 2,200. 3k rpms is just too high for these larger displacement engines.
