Hope these pictures work, first attempt at posting pictures. The wheels are only temporary as the offset is about 50mm out. Only got a couple of things to sort out then its off to get tuned. Really looking forward to taking it for a drive.

With that much room in the engine bay, I'm really disappointed that you didn't go for a 26B... j/k, it looks great. But I've thought about doing a 20B in a 240Z, but it's slated after the Porsche 911 20B project that I'm doing right now. You'll probably need a cage in there... |
i want it. looks nice man
what ecu. |
really nice i bet alot of alot of guys that love the nismo power are mad of u the only thing u have to say is that u got love for both
|
looks amazing
|
Now thats a badass Z model...
|
Got a haltech s2000 with 1600 cc sencondarys hooked up ready to be tuned. At first I connected the cosmo ecu up just to check everything was working as it should and more importantly to see how it sounded.
Was thinking about a cage to strengthen the chassis up more but not sure what is legal for a road car here yet. |
 It looks great. Do you have any videos of it running yet? FYI your the second person I have seen do a rotary datsun 240z. But the other guy was a 13b.

nice, very clean and professional looking build.

very awesome!!
what turbo is that? |
Very well done, have seen pics on a few other forums. Looks Great!!

Very nice!

Dont have any video of it yet but will get some once its tuned. I saw that black zed with the 13b a while back. At that stage he still needed to wire it up but was wanting to sell the engine to replace it with a ls1. Ive heard of a few rotary zeds being built but havent ever seen one finished, was looking forward to see how that car went.
The turbo started life as a garret ta51 im pretty sure but its had a lot of work. Its been changed to a ball bearing core and the guy at garret said the front cover had come from an aircraft. He said it would be simillar to a gt45. |
Actually, I'm the owner of that black Z. I gave up on the rotary for reasons other than financial or mechanical. Right now it's sitting incomplete with an LS1 I pulled out of a 2002 Z28 camaro.
Terrific work on the 20b, and I am saddened that that got finished, and mine did not. At the same time, incredibly impressive. How did you mount the 20B? Do you have pics of the mount? I used GSL-SE front engine cover, oilpan, and relocated pickup to mound the RE motor. |
it's funny, my love for Z-cars predates my life with rotaries and it really hasn't waned at all. i simply just haven't made time for one. my last chance was when i changed my mind on buying a 350Z at the last minute to buy the Rx-8.
anyway, i guess i just never thought of marrying the two. given a 240 or 280 (Z or ZX), i more than likely would have gone for the RB26, but i think you did a great job and made an awesome choice with the 20B (by the way, i see that this thread is almost a year old :)). if i didn't know any better, i bloody well would have thought it belonged there. would love to see some video if you still have the car. |
wotary=auxillary? From hybridz? You gave up on your project??? You and me were the only ones! This is my car 4 years ago, slapped the carb on it just to get it running, haven't touched it since...I wish I had a 20B.

absolutely love this idea.
i love rotaries and i love the original z. ive had both and always wanted to do this. but never have the funds, tools, or space to do so. never shall i stop dreaming of this achievement though. please do provide videos or more detailed pics eventually. |
Absolute insanity!
I hope you still have this thing and it is still in one pice. That thing must must be a b*tch to drive. Upload some videos! |
i love the 240Z chassis, along with my favorite motor of all time and i love the swap and the work great job.
|
owen! :) that's me. yeah, long story. more personal stuff than financial (financial wasn't the issue). Well if you change your mind, I'm selling my 13b-re now :)
|
people will put anything in a z these days lol. Car looks great, nice job man
|
Ive always liked how rotaries in a Z sit all the way behind the shock towers. Has anyone autox/tracked one? How do they handle?
