Base Fuel Pressure Setting??

I am running up the car for the first time with my new Walbro 450 pump and 1680 injectors. I have an adjustable fpr and want to set the base pressure before I run the car. My plan was to disconnect the line into the FPR and Blow and airline in there to pressurize it so I can see the gauge and adjust accordingly. Only thing I am not sure is what to set the pressure at.. I read around and seem to remember that 35-40psi base pressure at idle is a good start point. Not sure if that is still the case with my setup?
Also do I need to set it higher when it is static to allow for a drop in pressure when the engine is running or will the pump maintain the pressure set with the engine off when at idle??
Thanks for any advice in advance.

Cheers
Lee

What's your reg? 40-45psi is normal.

I have one of the Sard FPR's. Is that 40-45psi set with the engine off and vac disconnected. or when idling?

35 psi is a good base pressure. with your rising rate fpr you get one psi of fuel pressure per pound of boost, so at 15 psi of boost u will see 50 psi of fuel pressure. a slight change in base pressure will throw off you whole tune so set it and leave it.

Thanks again.. Can you verify if that is set with engine off? I.e if I set it by pressurising the for with an airline for instance will that be the correct pressure setting? I presume so?

Jump the fuel pump with car and vacuum line to FPR off, then set your base pressure. IIRC stock pressure is 38psi, but most people bump it up to 43.5psi with EV14 injector.

I cannot easily jump the pump due to aftermarket ecu and wiring. So I was trying to get it sorted manually. I am pretty confident my method should work. It is just a pressure relief valve after all.. Logic says whether I set it with engine on or not. As long as the vac line is off the pressure I set by pressurising the regulator with an airline or anything else should be correct? Right?
