20B RX-7 first start up - videos up now
Well it has finally been started. I have four videos up at the moment.
These are taken while running off the 20BT map. All that is left to do now is find a decent size accelerator cable, blue plate it and rego. If anyonecan help out with suggestions for the cable, please only respond if you know what works. It obviously sounds a lot different in real life, much louder. It is running one 3" straight through muffler at the rear. First startup - First time 20B had been fired up, running off 20BT map. Sound taken from front 23.2 mb http://www.rotary20b.com/videos/20b/...tart_front.avi Same as above, taken from rear of car. Start, small rev & idle 10.2 mb http://www.rotary20b.com/videos/20b/start_back.avi Sound from back of car, couple of small revs & idling 4.3 mb http://www.rotary20b.com/videos/20b/back_small_rev.avi Same as above, taken close to exhaust, idle & rev 5.5 mb http://www.rotary20b.com/videos/20b/back_rev.avi |

I have just uploaded another video taken this afternoon
Video is taken outside of workshop, still untuned (running very rich) www.rotary20b.com/videos/rx7-1.avi (13.3 mb) Would people prefer me to convert them to mpg making them much smaller with a slight drop in quality? |
The car looks clean, and a 3-rotor first gen is always sweet!! Good work!

All videos are now much smaller in size

What kind of power are you expecting?

I'd expect it to be making anywhere from 300-350 hp n/a I'll be interested to put it on tghe dyno and test for sure, will be a little while before that happens though. The engine is VERY responsive, in these videos you only just tap the accelerator and it revs up, feels like it will be very torquey. The car was meant to be engineered yesterday buy failed due to noise and no cat, so once a cat goes on it will be right to be taken down to main roads to be rego'd. It has passed everything else otherwise and the engineer who inspected it was said to have been very impressed. |
