20B engine position question

hi,

I have just test fitted a 20B into my FD to measure up sumps, manifolds etc. and have a question about where the engine is sitting.

-I have just had the motor rebuilt with my original 13B rear iron so that I can use the original engine mounts.
-When everything is bolted in with the original mounts, the front of the motor sits to the passenger side of the (RHD) car about 55mm.
-The motor measures about 1.8 degrees off from the chassis rails, which doesn't sound a lot but is actually quite noticeable.

Does anyone know if this driveline misalignment is how they come from the factory? I can't see how things could be any different on my car as I am using the original rear housing and mounts.

The only downside to this I can see is that the diff will be on the same angle but this will be well within the working range of the CV's.

Positive is it gives a little more room for turbos and manifolds!

Any advice would be much appreciated!

regards,

Rob.

Hi mate, i came across this picture which looks the motor is mounted on an angle from factory. Its actually a better thing because it gives you more room for the turbo.
Are you building your car as a drag car or a road car?
