The Zookeeper's back...

You boys and girls better straighten up, the Zookeeper's back in town! Actually, I've been back for about a month, now. I've been lurking in the shadows, but haven't posted anything until now.

I had an intermittant brake light problem and posted a thread about trouble shooting brake lites a while back (https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=286375). I determined I had a bad Brake Lite Check Relay. While I was on the road, I stopped at RX7 Heaven in Minneapolis and picked up a used one. Put it in when I got home and, voila, no more brake lite problems. So at least the trouble shooting guide worked for me! :)

AND while I was there - I got this for only $15 ...!

Still in the original shrink wrap, too! These puppies are getting harder and harder to find! It'll look good next to the Savannah Model I already have. BTW - Anton still has 3 maybe 4 of these left and will mail for appropriate $$. Unfortunately, he's not into computers at all - so everything will have to be dun snail mail and landline. (( RX7 Heaven, 1743 W County Rd C, Ste C, Roseville, MN 55113, (651) 639-9460 )). Also while I was there, he had a "For Sale" sign on his shop. Anybody looking to go into the RX7 maintenance and parts business?

I just replaced my OEM oil cooler lines with braided SS lines from MazdaTrix. If you order those, be aware - the bottom SS line for an 84 GSL-SE (PN 5000) (that's the one with the banjo fitting) is about 3" shorter than the OEM line. Makes it difficult to get on, but it will go on. I thought about going AN-style lines, but didn't feel like making them up myself nor paying the extra $$ for something you can't really see anyway.

I also got around to building the "Visible Mazda Rotary Engine" kit that's sat in the closet ever since we all got excited about it in some threads a few hundred years ago...
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...id=78820&stc=1
It even works!!! Rotors go round and round, spark plugs flash - kool! But what a pain in the ass! The kit is pretty sloppy and requires a lot of tweaking, testing, and tweaking to get it to function properly. Requires much patience, grasshopper!

I see a lot of new names out there! Welcome to the forum to all I haven't met before. As you can tell by my post count, I usually don't post unless I actually have something to say. Yeah, I know... :werd:

Oh yeah, I uploaded some pics of my Rex in the "vB Garage". Check it out, let me know what you think... https://www.rx7club.com/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=23338.

It's a model car, a left-hand drive SA, to be exact (only a few available). Judging by it's lack of a passenger side mirror, I'd say it's an early '79. The model you see already put together in the pic is a right-hand drive "Savanna" (no longer available). There was a model FB out at one time; alas it too is history.
The see-thru rotary is still available at Edmund Scientific (http://scientificsonline.com/product...cd2=1098637287) for $24 US. If you Google "Visible Mazda Rotary Engine", you'll find a few other sources too.

I thank you, sir, and my car thanks you! Yeah, I drive a "large car" over the road. Couldn't take any pics of 1st gens on the road this time out... damn things jump around like jackalopes, know what I mean? BTW, getting out of that big rig and into my Rex is kinda like sitting on a rotary powered skateboard. Awesome!
