would 2nd gen coils work? dlidfis??

would second generation coils work for dlidfis?
and if so, would they be any better than first gen.?
also how much of heatsink do i need for this setup?
i have read the threads and didnt see anything about it.

Any 12v coil will theoretically work, but the 2nd gen had the coil and igniter attached to one another so that might pose a problem in wiring. There is somebody here who runs 2nd gen coils….... hold on…… here…. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...highlight=Coil

I run a second gen coil fired from a stock ignitor in the stock location. It's been running fine for a long time now, but I havent been able to come up with a way for the pickup to fire the second gen ignitor. If anyone knows how I would be interested.

Use the 2nd gen CAS and a Haltech :)

I was thinking more along the lines of cheap and easy, but not necessarily easy.

I remember talking to a guy at mazdatrix about this very same subject and he said 'better luck next time' he explained to me how to do it, but you have to have some sort of a way for the coil packs to pick up the signal and the ECU to relate them :)
