wmv playback problem
 

i know you guys are like wtf , but for those of you who do know can you help.

it seems that 90% of wmv files i download, stall on the last 5 seconds of playback.

and its even worst with videos that have been edited.

ive tried different players, most updated codec. and its still freezing. maybe my video card is taking a dump?

dvd's play perfectly, so do 99% of other video formats.

i know it hasn't always been like this.

whoa! i just found a copy of windows media player classic. and it playes EVERYTHING beautifully! wtf. i wonder why?

One main difference between the Media Player "Classic" and the "beefy" version of Media Player is that the "beefy" version is WAY WAY WAY resource intensive... that might have something to do with it, but hmmm..... uhm, does it matter the size of the file?
