wiring problems
 

i know it has something to do with the wiring but not exactly sure what, the problem is i turn the key to accessories and all dash lights work and all electrical basically, but once i turn the key to try and it sounds like the motor is aobut to crank it just dies and all electrical is done, then i have to unplug and replug the battery back in and do the same over again, i've been told its a grounding wire problem but i dont know where to go from here how can i fix it?

I hate to ask the obvious, but are you sure the battery is fully charged and good? It doesnt take much to make those dash lights and stuff come on, but when you try and draw ~80 amps to turn the engine over, the battery just might not have it.

I would start with the battery cables as well. Just follow the ground wire off the battery down to the inner strut tower and on down to the engine. Make sure all the connections are clean and tight. Double check them (meaning take them off, clean and reinstall). If you still have the same problem, I would try replacing them. They go bad over time anyway, and theyre cheap so having new ones will only help anyway.

yea i forgot to mention that the battery is fully charged and i'll check out what you sugested thanks.

Bad battery cables will give you this symptom. If you want to play around a little, you could try to wiggle all the batery cables down to the starter and then try to start the car. When mine were about shot, I could wiggle the cables and get the car to start. Sometimes I would have to wiggle them 10 times. No guarantee on this. Yours may never start after wiggling.

The fix is to replace the battery cables. There are good writes ups on how to do this and what causes the problem. Try to search here or google.

thanks for the help it turned out to be really coroded battery terminals and its running strong once again.

i've got another problem now i replaced the radiator and dont have the original mounts and so for now it is ziptied to the car and the oil cooler is ziptied to the radiator, does anyone know where to get some mounting brackets that i dont need to solder onto the radiator?
