Which Wideband O2 Sensor?

I am needing a wideband O2 sensor for my turbo setup to run the A/F gauge. I have searched the site and it seems everyone is running the single wire sensor on carbs. Not finding much on the EFI systems. So my question is what Wideband O2 sensor should I be looking at and where do I put the bug on the downpipe? I was wanting to get a heated one so it will always be at operating temp, plus takes less time to get to operable temp. I should have my digital Camera soon and I will post pix as I go along with my setup.

Thanx guys,
Mike

I have this one and it is working great
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/

But this one looks pretty cool

But I do know with the Innovated motorsports one you can configure the output so that it will work with your existing gauge.

I just bought a Autometer A/F gauge and it only has three wires.. Purple, red, and black. Purple goes to the O2 Sensor, red is the ignition feed, black is ground. If I was to get a Wideband sensor arnt those like a 3 to 5 wire? How would I go about wiring it up to this A/F gauge? I would like to go wideband because of the idea the single wire gauge isnt as accurate.

Thanx,
Mike

that gauge wont work with a wideband. when you get a wideband, it should have a gauge designed for it. sometimes there included, sometimes there optional.

here's one:

They are trying to do a group buy on the widebandcommander ones right now over on http://bozemanscca.ma.cx/

A buddy put my A/F setup together and I have used it several times. I've been pretty impressed. I think he had about 50$ into it (new napa O2 sensor - 4 wire, and a parts swap guage). I'll try and remember to write down the part #'s tonight when I'm at the shop...maybe get some pics too.

Well I have some part numbers but I can't seem to upload pics on my host site...so I'll post those when I can get them uploaded.

The guage is a Nordskog Perfromance Products - PT# "M7009" - Air/Fuel Bar Graph

I can't seem to find the paperwork or box for the O2 sensor but here are the part numbers off of the sensor itself.

PT# "122" (located on Hex part whare wrench fits)

"Made in the USA-Oxygen Sensor-28" (Between hex & threads.

I also have the instructons. Witch have PT# GF8335 in the lower right corner. "Installation Instructions For 3 and 4-wire Heated Universal Oxygen Sensor" is writen across the top of the page.

The sensor has one Gray = Ground, one Black = Sensor, and two White = Switch Power wires coming out of it.

I think my buddy said it was for a Ford Explorer and he got it at CarQuest or Napa for 35$.....but that was several years ago so I might be wrong on this.

Oh, and if you can't find the sensor from the part numbers my buddy may be able to remember ware he got it from. I won't be able to get ahold of him till middle of next week though. He is a Data Acquisition Engineer for Herdez (champ car) and is at a race in Cleaveland right now.

DETAILS PLEASE!! I would love to have a permanent readout for my Wideband.

I would Loooooove it to work with my knock sensor gauge (also has a readout for A/F)

So just to get the simple tunning to start a turbo setup, a single wire Sensor and Autometer A/F will do fine? The amount of cash you have to spend out all at once to do this project within a few months will make you broke. So I guess what I will start with is I will get the Bosch made for an 85 SE which is a single wire and is only $17 @ Autozone, and I already have a Autometer A/F gauge. This will help me to begin with to get the beast on the road. I guess to finer tune you will need the Wideband setup. I am running a Walbro 255 and a Cartech FMU. So I will be able to control the fuel pressure very easily. Didnt know there was SOO much more involved with the Wideband Setup. Later upgrade ;] ....Thanx to you guys that have Posted. I got my digital camera in so I will have pix posted Soon!

keep r0tating,
Mike

What gauge do you have? The pic is kinda small.

The innovated unit has two analog ouputs that can be configured to any voltage range from 0-5v that you want. You can get it close just by tinkering, then dail it in while you are watching the actuall wideband readout.
I had my autometer gauge running off of a 0-1v output and it worked pretty good. But I just started playing with the voltage range till I got it where it was lightnig up the red leds anythime I got leaner than 12.5:1 That way while I was in it good all I had to do was watch for red lights.
