Why does my car sound like this?

I recently fixed my motor which had carbon lock. While doing so, I took out the rats nest, and added pace setter header. The car starts up just fine now but it goes brap brap brap and it is not bridge ported. Can that be from the weak apex seal? A vaccume leak? I am confused. It runs great and when I stomp on the gas it has good acceleration.

Also, I noticed my temp rising higher than normal. The car has 78k original miles. Could that just be from sitting and the thermostat being seized? I'm guessing it has never been replaced before so I am just going to order a new one just for the heck of it.

It sure feels good to finally get back into the rx7 after 5 months of driving a 2009 hyundai accent :icon_tup:

I think your issue may have something to do with your timing being off in regards to how you removed the rats nest but I'm not entirely sure. I would wait for some of the more knowledgeable members to chime in.

I forgot to mention, my richer solenoid is not hooked up. The wire broke when I pulled the carb. But isn't that for high rpm and full throttle fuel consumption?

All fixed, I did some tuning and it's running like it should with 78k miles

Richer is mainly operating during deceleration.
