White Sludge
I had a fresh rebuild done three weeks ago and I have just gone through the break in period. Upon changing the oil I notice white sludge near the filler and the dip stick. Is this normal with a new motor.

Do you have a breather on the filler neck? Are the emissions still intact?

nevermind. Than god, I just did an oil change it must have been water that condensated into my oil cooler when the car was sitting. Just a little bit of clums around the dip stick and filler nothing clumpy in the oil.

no emissions and yes I have a breather

dont worry , its proabably cold where you are , its common in cold climate to build condensation in the motor ....,, especially under the oil cap and at the top of the dipstick!! its good to be aware though!

a few nice looong drives will dry it out. Guys that only take their cars on short trips have this problem.
|
changed my oil last night and had the same thing.

Paint the inside of your filler tube, or better yet, get it powder coated.
|
if you often start up your car and shut it off before the engine temp get up to normal, this is common. i dont think its a problem tho.

everyone's does this, search the forum I gave an explanation as to why :)
