what type of o2 sensor is it??
a standard generic type might not with stand in the rotary exhaust heat.
if ur using it just to tune the car, only put it in when tuning and remove when finished.

Put it as close to the engine as possible.

I had one mounted in my car. YOu can't mount it on the exhaust manifold. The weld will crack. That's what the welding shop said when I broguht them the exhaust manifold and the O2 sensor. Instead, they cut a hole and mounted in the pipe right before the 1st converter or whatever that is.

They mounted it facing down and to the driver side so I could easily get a wrench on it. The RX7's ,during normal driving, exhaust doesn't get any hotter than normal exhaust's. I mounted a Bosch universal that costs 23 bucks there. It's the one that the 1992 Mazda MX-6's use. It works great. I have no problems with it. As a matter of fact, I have never been able to get a reading above 900 mv which after 700mv is a temp sensor. The sensor is good up to 1500 mv.
