The stock "jacking points" that the emergency jack uses are pathetic... jack the car with a floor jack by the front crossmember or by the rear axle's centersection, and then stuff the jackstands under the boxed framerail-looking sections in the floorpan - works beauty. The rails (NOT the body seams) are the strongest part of the car.

You may find your car sits too low to slide a hydraulic floor jack under the front crossmember....It's so on my SE...If so use the tow hooks to lift the car up enough to get stands under the frame rails, then move the jack to the crossmember and hike it up to the level you want. If you need to you can do the same with the rearend.

Denny, from the corncrib...;)

The edges of the body and the square rails under the floor boards are really dented up from improper jacking both by the previous owner and myself. Any way to get behind those? I really dont wanna drill, tap, and use a slide hammer to get them out.

Doesn't look like I have much choice. I'm pretty lucky I didnt screw the oil pan when the jack slipped off the cross member while I was getting the jack stands. Just a dent in that. :(
