built a tray for my setup
|
where is it mounted now? any pics?
when i ran one back in the day, i actually mounted it behind the passenger seat. for my current project, when i hook up the ignition system, i plan to mount it where the battery is - because i'm moving the battery inside. :) none of this was likely helpful, so here goes some ideas that might be ... i've seen guys mount it (1) just under the front valence panel - in front of the radiator. (2) just in front of the firewall on the passenger side, where the washer fluid reservoir is. (3) on the driver's strut tower. |
pic was attached. tray is front drivers side. Near origional coil, covering all those nasty wires.
|
i was asking the original poster about pics? :)
you've got a nice setup there though ... i like it a lot. looks very clean and professional. got any clearer (or larger) pics of it you can e-mail to me? |

DS between the tower and the firewall. Had to trim a little, but with a little touchup paint, looks very good. Plus it keeps it near everything it needs to be attached to.

Mine is under the metal support in front of the rad, neat hidden install.
|
Mine is in the cockpit, in the factory computer area below the footwell area....since its a carbed model, it only has the computer for basic electrics, cut some of the bracket to make room, but it fits.
|
Mine is where the battery use to be (Battery is in the bins behind the passenger seat).

mine is on the passenger side by the headlight motor.
|
I put mine on the driver side strut tower, put rubber washers between the strut tower and the bracket I made for it to try and reduce vibration and what not, 2 full years and 2 summers not a problem yet

Hidden box. if anyone ask, 1 stock igniter @ the dizzy with 2 MSD coils for direct fire.

wacky, you're so sneaky! how do you do it?
put the msd box inside the car if possible, it's not watertight. |
As long as you install it sideways, there will be no issues (Plus a dab of clear silicone on top and having the stock belly pan helps. Was like that for years when it was my daily driver.

I Put Both Inside Where Ecu Was!

In Pass Footwell

Like post #9, I mounted mine in the passenger footwell. I'm using DIS-4 Boxes, so they're a little shallower. The location has some good features -- dry and cool.

Justin,
Just take the ignitor out of the 2nd gen coil and hook up the msd just like a normal coil. Alvin |
