does anyone know who has a large selection of wheels on the net...tirerack.com has only 2 that fit the rex...i think i would like a set like those on the "jetta wolfsberg eddition" they are 3 piece wheeles with a pattern simmilar to that on a 200 Honda civic special eddition and acura integra

if your car has the unusual 4x110 lug pattern, then you pretty much will have a hard time looking. there are some suggestions in the forum, but i doubt you'll find the one you really want, unless you have them custom drilled or get an adapter.

Go to wheelspecs.com it has far more listings and give important info like weight. Gamble (a fellow board member) is one of the people behind it.

Then, once you know which wheel you want, you can custom order it from discount tires, a local place or even the Tirerack.

I think the tirerack search program sucks...it only their concept of pre-approved replacements. Even for the GSL-SE (4x114.5 IIRC) it only shows two...BS, and I am sure they have more, but it just isn't listed properly for the application.

Wheelspecs.com lists the offsets, weight, bolt pattern, and has pictures. Then you can search for that specific part number.

It's not a problem, stick with your stock 13 inch wheels, get a set of 185/70 yokohama avid tourings (around $215, delivered, installed and with 80,000 miles of tread life). They are perfect for a stock 7, smooth and tight.

Or you could try to find a set of the 14" wheels that came on the '83 Limited Edition and run 185/60/14s and retain the stock speedometer calibration.

Or if you don't happen to have money pouring out your ass, Yokohama ES100.... $80- affordable and really good traction.;)

I have a 79 and had a problem getting rims and tires with the 4x110 pattern. I managed to find 15in rims. I looked and went everywhere for a change. The only way to really get what you want is to do have them custom drilled or get an adapter... I didnt want to do that so I chose this rims....

Click on codeblue and you will see the rims in a few of the pics....
Click on show all....and pic 1400 shows the rim itself

Thanks 1984special.

I had so many problems trying to customize wheels for my car. I even had LArims in CA try to customize wheels but they couldnt do it.

Never never go to LA rims...I paid them 3,000 for them to customize rims for my car. I put the 3,000 on my credit card. Then when they told me they couldnt customize my rims for me, they wouldnt refund my 3,000.

My credit card company had to go after their ass to get my money back....it was a nightmare..Also I checked with the BBU..and they are listed as doing others bad.

I found a set of 14" wheels on wheelspec.com. It is a tough deal. Every now and then there is a set on Ebay. But you really can't be to picky.
