wheel spacers
 

i am doing the RE Speed BBK on my GSL-SE so i will be going to a 5 lug bolt pattern. i picked up some wheels (mustang GT wheels 5x114.3 17x8 offset +50, they look like the torque thrust wheels) for really cheap. so i have been searching for the best offsets to figure out what size spacer i will need. which brings me to my question regarding wheel spacers. correct me if i am wrong but the best offset for 8 inch wide wheels are in the low teens or twenties (positive offset). my biggest concern is the rubbing on the back side with the coilovers. i want to make sure i have enough space back there. so to be on the safe side, i will be going with a spacer 1.5 inch or 38mm thick. i found that there is a huge range in manufacturers and and price. i dont want to spend too much so i found a couple different brands on ebay. has anyone had any experience with these two brand of spacers? see link below:

one is "lug centric" (thats what the person told me over the phone) and the other one is hub centric. i have read that hub centric is the one to go with but i dont know what that means exactly and i dont have any experience with wheels spacers at all. if someone has info on this i would greatly appreciate some help. i dont want to get my BBK on without having the wheels ready to install also. thanks.

hub centric is where the center hole in the wheel, or spacer, fits tightly onto the extended part in the middle of the hub. so the wheel cant move around and most of the weight and force is there and keeps it centered when u tighten the wheel down. lug centric is where the lugs and studs actually keep the wheel centered and the hole in the middle of the wheel or spacer is bigger than that extended part of the hub. people say hub centric is better but as long as ur lugs are tight and torqued to the right specs either is fine. where people run into problems is when their lugs arent tightened properly making it easier for the wheel to move around thus making more slack and possibly breaking a stud or loosening the lugnuts. also i think the offset i think most ppl are running on gsl-se's are +40 to around +25. the regular fbs like mine with the 4x110 pattern are able to run the higher 0 to +20 offsets cuz the hubs are set in closer to the car and suspension components than a GSL-SE. so since those rustang wheels are +50mm then if u had a 15mm spacer your offset would then be +35. 20mm spacer will make it +30 offset. im thinking those would be the best bet from what i know.
