I'm sure he has them for the same reason you all have yours. He likes them.

It is a bit extreme, but hell, it's his car and if he likes it... all the power to him.

hantonyc 01-08-09 02:17 PM

the car will receive wide fender, thats the point of the wheels.

thunkrd 01-08-09 02:39 PM

oh ok, that makes a lot more sense.

pillage6 01-08-09 04:01 PM

Makes sense, like that I was wondering if the tires ruined the fenders every time you hit a bump. Love the color of the car though and can't wait to see it finished.

hantonyc 01-08-09 05:25 PM

i cant run like that here in quebec ill get pulled the first corner a cop see me haha i just put wheels on for picture, anyway the car sleep in snow right now

chepx7 01-08-09 11:12 PM

:wtf1: :Wconfused damn... the first pic looks like spare tires... to which his own I guess

hantonyc 01-09-09 10:41 AM

lol wtf spare tire ? how can you say they look like spare tire when you dont even see where the tires end.. ??

Siraniko 01-09-09 08:52 PM

flared or not, you have the wrong backspace and size. that car reminds me of the 80's when the lowered mini-pick up trucks were around.

as far is i know, this IS a 80's car and I won't mod it like a 2009.

Siraniko 01-10-09 10:35 PM

you know nothing about the 80's I can tell. the 80's mini-p/u looks like a frog since most of them are running spacers to make the tires stick out OR are using rims that are wider in the outside than inside.

They are simmons FR18's

Fronts are 18x7 with +28 offset (to clear brembo calipers)
Rears are 18x12 with 5.5" outers not sure offset

As far as I know the only company that can get them is Mariah Motorsports. After shipping they would come to around $3000US. Alot of people don't have that kind of scratch lying around, or have more important things to spend it on. I'm willing to save that much and I looked into them but have my mind set on something else.

pillage6 01-11-09 01:18 PM

I have some 14x6" mesh wheels w/ 10mm offset that fit nicely, will try to take some decent pictures and post them later.

what do you think my rims are ? 5 inches outside , 2 inches inside

Siraniko 01-12-09 09:48 AM

if you have the right backspace, then it shouldnt stick out that far. now, you want them rims so you can have flares? either way, its not wide enough and its really ugly to find a large gap between the back of rims/tires and the frame/inner fender walls. you may as well add some hydraulic and make your RX-7 into a low-rider.

hantonyc 01-12-09 10:07 AM

i dont care, this thread is wheel set up on your FB , its not judge my wheels ;) like it or not I do. And i have them, didnt know they would stick that much so I will put flare, i didnt bought wheels so I could put flare? lol. Oh and btw, just to make you love me, my rx7 is getting a v8 swap :)

FirebirdSlayer666 01-12-09 10:25 AM

^^If it's getting a V8 in it, I would definitely put some wider wheels on the back simply for traction. You'll just roast those tires and not go anywhere

hantonyc 01-12-09 11:27 AM

there will be 235's ra1 in the back (not in the pic) these are temporary tires.

docholiday 01-25-09 05:59 PM

most people get them at image in motion but you can get em cheaper on ebay. i think i got my wheels and tires for like 35 - 40% cheaper than my buddy did at image in motion.

For my FB wheels you'll have to look at my avatar for I am simple-minded and have yet to figure out the pic posting thing. I like my 14" SE stock wheels. I don't see them that often and when I do I appreciate Mazda's design. Any thoughts? Is there a name for them? (I am only aware of the SA's "waffle" name.)

1 sic fb 02-22-09 03:06 PM

i like the blck wheels what are they called and who makes them??

Siraniko 02-22-09 05:14 PM

16x8 SSR...custom drilled to 4x110. I believe its the only one in the entire US since they were special ordered from Japan but, dont quote me...fucking salesman will say every fucking bullshit in the book to make a sale. I could have bought a rolling RX-3 for the price I paid:lol::lol:

5Zigen FN01RC 17x7 front and 17x8 rear
i can get them in either +35 or +42 offset...which do you all think? (or maybe the +42 on the rear with spacers?)

I think its worth. Your 3 looks sweet, besides I dont think you have any more room for another car. You know us we like those new syle type rims

rxtasy3 03-12-09 09:32 AM

rx4 wheels widened to 7" and stock ride height.

I like those, it would look great with a drop!

Kentetsu 03-12-09 11:52 AM

I just picked up some 13x8 revolutions from Trochoid. I'll be throwing my 215 Sumitomos on them for the Dragon in April... :)

risingsunroof82 03-13-09 04:03 AM

Kentetsu, you could snug some 225's under there. ;)

Kentetsu 03-13-09 12:29 PM

I certainly could, if I wanted to run Hoosiers. Finding that size in a real street tire is not easy. But I do runn 225s on the Diamond wheels, which have the same backspacing as the Revo's and they fit with plenty of clearance... :)

RE Matsuda 03-14-09 04:31 AM

Damn wacky, here I was thinking I was the only one with a set of 4x110 SSR MK's!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...CT0178-1-1.jpg

15x6.5 SSR MK-III +19 offset (Type B) with 195/55-15

I would love to find a wider set and swap out the shells to go to 8.0-9.0 wide in the back.

definitely will once i decide on a setup, and of course $$.

risingsunroof82 03-14-09 03:03 PM

I've got 225 kumho's on the back and 205 kumho's on the front. I've got a special guy for me who could find just about anything, and he mounted them and ballanced them all for $250 bucks.... thats including tire price. ;)
