wheel rotor swap from 2nd gen?

Im trying to find wheels, but of course there is nothing for the 110x4 bolt pattern, what i want to do is get rotors from a 2nd gen. Would they fit?, if not does anyone know where to get gsl-se rotors from? thanks

MIKE-P-28 03-24-02 06:35 PM

Wont work, whole setup is different, bearing size everything...

redrx 03-24-02 07:20 PM

damn

PalmCity RX-7 03-24-02 07:22 PM

would it be possible to put the whole suspension and brakes from a 2nd gen into a 1st gen? Are the suspension setups similar?

riffraff 03-24-02 09:10 PM

it would be possible, third gen too, but costly. there is a lot of custom fabrication necessary

REVHED 03-24-02 09:18 PM

Heaps of people have put 2nd gen brakes on a 1st gen but as riffraff said it takes a bit of fabrication.

You need to do a swap for SE rotors/axles/brakes.

Hawk Brake Pads or Kevlar Pads, Replace your Brake Fluid with Racing fluid, and you'll be more than happy.

Dont think the braking ability is the reason for wanting to change. He wants to get a bolt patern he can get som 'phat' wheels for :)

Oh..

In that case either the SE Swap mentioned above..(Cheapest)
Or have someone Custom Drill New Wheels, (Expensive) OR
Custom make the rotors to accept 4 or 5 lugs.(VERY Expensive)

riffraff 03-24-02 09:48 PM

did all third series have the larger axels, or was that only on the gsl-se

Directfreak 03-24-02 09:49 PM

Only SE.

There's a thread in the Canadian Forum about a custom kit Guru is working on to put 2nd gen rotors in a 1st gen...
