Whats everyone useing for wheel bearing grease?

I know there's gotta be a synthetic thats better than the standard peanut butter grease they used in the 80's. What would you all suggest?

NLGI #2 multipurpose lithium-based grease. Per the Haynes manual. Could not find a recommendation in the FSM, though there may be one.

As far as synthetics, don't know. If you find one, make sure it is listed as a replacement for the lithium based based grease.

Jim Susko and I used to use this stuff called Aisyn or Aisym or something like that. I havn't seen it in a while and I searched on yahoo for it. It was a direct market product like Amsoil that a friend had. The story was it was helicopter rotor bearing grease. It was the only stuff we found that didn't melt and run out of the dust caps on the race cars. The stuff smelled more like plastic than grease. I used the last bit that I had not to long ago, if I find it I'll post a link this stuff is great.

any red lithium grease is going to be the same until you use something like an amsoil synthetic, it's the best.

I use Amsoil, but I'm always looking for something better. That Alisyn stuff looks interesting. Certainly worth a try.
