whats the best ecu to use on a gslse
 

ive been working on my 6 port 13b for about 2 years it is ready to boost about 25-30psi but only have two injectors to work with and that just wount do:wallbash: so what fuel only wcu can any one recomend for my application
i dont know much about ecus and the person that was helping me died about a week ago in a turbo2. so please help

I am sorry to hear about your friend. Hope all goes well for his/her family.

As for the fuel only ECU, I have heard many good things about megasquirt. They are inexpensive and are open source, as you can create any kind of mapping you like.

EDIT: I was going to run megasquirt, but the carb -> EFI cost was more than I intended. Good luck and keep us updated! Post some pictures if you can!

You may want to try the Engine Management and Single Turbo Fora. My initial thoughts:

1. That's a lot of boost. What have you done to make your engine capable?

2. That's a lot of boost. Are you running race gas? Alcohol?

3. That's a lot of boost. Only 2 injectors? I don't know of anything that can flow enough. You should be looking at around 600 or more HP.

If you plan on boosting, you might as well go full standalone so you cancntrol the ignition, it's cure/advance and it will allow you to upgrade to the 2nd gen ignition for better spark. 25-30 psi is pretty gutsy, you will need all the engine control you can muster. Modding a 2nd gen intake and 4 upgraded injectors will be a big help too.

The MegaSquirt would be a good start, unless you want to drop bigger bucks on one of the other standalone units.

Thats a LOT of boost.

Not trying to be a butthead, but, reading through your other posts, you have a lot to learn before you even think about boosting. I'm guessing you're coming from the Honda crowd where 25-30 psi of boost is relatively simple with very few mods. 6-8 psi of boost on a rotary translates into an equivalent of around twice that on a piston engine.

To build a reasonably reliable/durable engine to handle that high of boost levels, you'll be spending well over 4k for the engine build and turbo. then double that for all of the supporting mods including tranny, brake upgrades, heavy duty rear end, think Ford 8.8 or 9", tires and wheels, fuel system, ecu, cooling system etc., etc., etc.. By the time you're done, you can easily spend over 10k, doing most of the work yourself.

If you don't believe me, find Dan S Young's TII widebody build. he's shooting for a lowly 450 whp. :lol: Ask him what he's spent so far and he finally got his engine to fire for the first time last night.

no dont know anything about honda, but i know that my desist friend has allways built hi boost 13b and about my other post i have 3 rx7 total a first gen a sec and a 3 gen plus im building a 1980 corolla for strip that has a 13b power plant and needs a couple of parts but thanks for the constructive criticism and only make me work harder to achieve my goals

Sounds like you have plenty of experience and support with rotary's. I'll still go with my earlier suggestion and adapt a 2nd gen intake mani to your SE engine, unless you can figure out a way to adapt 2 more injectors to the SE mani. Your low post count and tone of your question indicated less experience/knowledge than you have. No offense intended.
