Basically.

Looks like a condenser for reducing radio interference. May want to check the FSM.

Apparently I am missing parts 4-7b on the FSM. Downloading them now.

Just checked the 80FSM, no mention of it anywhere :(

It even has a picture of the dizzy with it on it, but no description.

It is the condenser. It connects to the coil (+) wire(s). You don't absolutely need it. Just helps to reduce radio interference.

Downloading the wiring diagram now.

Ah thanks! Another wire bites the dust :)

You could just mount it near the coil. It would look neat and still do the job.

Only will have the 2nd gen leading coil. What exactly does it do, emit sound pulses or something?

More like an electromagnetic field.

Sometimes you can get a noise through your speakers that gets higher pitched with higher rpm's and lower pitched with lower rpm's. I don't know how it works but this will eliminate the noise. If you remove it you could experience such interference. Try disconnecting it first and see if you can hear a difference before you completely take it out.

Meh. I will probably end up taking the radio/speakers out. If I don't I have to get a nice amp, I can't hear anything if I am over 25oo RPM.

Doesn't matter what type of coil it is..works the same way. Attaches to the coil (+) terminal.
