I'm just doing the final tweaking on my carb'ed 13b now that its running, and from looking on the SE's fuel injection i thought these lines were just coolant lines flowing through the dynamic chamber. so at first i ran a hose straight across between the two, that was not pretty, car ran for a bit then started shooting coolant(?) or something out of one of the hoses and the oil cap and PCV hose was also blowing out a abnormal amount of smoke.

i then figured i'd block both sides off and see what happened, car seems to run fine.

what did i block off? i just want to make sure this will be safe...

thanks! here's some pics......

The out on the water pump and the in on the back of the engine should be connected directly with a hose. Its not nessesary as on an SE it just flows coolant through the intake manifold, but I would recommend it.

Also, you have 2 spots on your oil filler pipe. One on the block and one on the pipe. The one on the pipe can be blocked and the one on the block should have a line that has a mini-airfilter on it. Line can be any length. Also, those spots can be in any order. Your preference to which gets blocked. Some people keep it running to the factory oil overflow box thing, but I dont think it matters.

weird, when i had it connected directly from the water pump out to the in at the back of the engine thats when i was having problems. i was a bit low on coolant when i tried that, not sure how that would matter.. must have been a break in the hose.

anyways, its cut and blocked off now and works, so i'm just going to stick with this for now.

as for the PCV, i just have that running open to the air now, will be putting a breather filter on there later. not sure of the other hose you mean coming off the oil filler, i just see the one?

thanks!
