What should my clutch feel like?

I just bought the car as you all already know... When I push on the clutch, it has very, very, very little resistance. I'm used to the clutch in my A4, and don't remember my old FB well enough to tell if there's an issue. Of course, if the car could actually start (which should be remedied tonight or tomorrow night...) I could drive it and see... But for now, how much resistance should there be? It's not like on my FC when the slave went out and the pedal dropped to the floor... It just seems very, very "light".

Sounds about right to me. My 83 has the softest clutch pedal I have ever encounted, with the exception of my 90 nissan truck. And that is a very close call........
Try putting the car in gear, depressing the clutch, and see if the car will roll. This will let you know if either the hydralics are not working, or the clutch is stuck to the flywheel or pressure plate. This can happen when a car sits for a while, but is easily remedied once the car runs.

"It feels like warm apple pie" LOL

My pedal is soft also and i have a new slave and clutch, it lets out about 60% away from the floor.

I hate my clutch I think it is going out I was wondering if anybody tried the braded stailess steel clutch line is it worth buying or not.

before i put in my centerforce clutch, i remember it being pretty fuggin soft. very girly pedal pressure. now it's juuuust right :D (props to the dual friction) oh and if you havent already, it does help some to completly bleed the system which is so easy on these fb's. worth it anyways if you just got it. good luck

I've got a braided line going from the master cylinder to the slave, and the clutch is very nice feeling, incredibly easy to push, yet holds good and is easily modulated. There are usually some parts supply stores that carry the line in generic lengths, and then sell a multitude of adapters to fit your application. That is how I use a british master with the mazda slave. The line and adapters probably cost me 20-30 dollars.
