What should I do ?

Need advice, I am a little disechanted :)

I got this 1983 RX-7 with a broken transmission. I got a used $200 junk yard tranny ready, but I do not have garage resources to do a tranny swap myself.

This car starts just fine and idles fine, one owner, 90K miles.

This was supposed to be my daily driven beater, but now I am wondering if its even worth repairing.

Should I sell it? How much would I get for a POS like this?

I am really confused as to wether I should keep it or sell it. I don't want to invest alot of money into mechanics services, its ridiculous - the car is not in that great of a shape.

Please advice :(

Your telling me you don't at least have a floor-jack, a couple jack-stands and a good set of metric wrenches? Hell, you could even use a scissor-jack and improvise by using tyres or bricks as jack-stands. :)

Plus I'm sure everyone here would be more than happy to help you through the swap.

You should definitely sell it and buy a Cavalier.

I do have jacks, and wrenches, but it looks like a messy job and I have a feeling that I will get stuck somewhere.

... And its a tiny townhouse one car garage, so the room is limited.

LOL Whoops. I went a little overboard with the edit feature there. What I meant to add is that I am not saying that the car is POS, I absolutely love it, its just that its in a nondriveable condition and I am wondering if its worth a good amount of extra $ to get it running again.

Well, I asked around on this forum and people said you MAY get one for as low as $75 but plan on spending about $175. So after shipping and handling, yeah, $200. I mean, that is not THAT bad, I can deal with that. It's now a matter of putting it in.

Jack it up and put it in! You already bought the tranny. Get a Haynes manual, and/or a Mazda service manual (available on CD-Rom) and tear into it. Wait, is it a 5speed or slug-o-matic?

Available on CD-ROM? Please enlighten me. I know the wiring diagrams are available online, but the Factory Service Manual?

The first link takes you to another web page now. I don't know what the deal is. Maybe it wasn't a factory service manual but I honestly swear thats what it said.
