What other car seats have you used

So like it states, what other seats from other cars have you put in your first gen. Pics if possible.

I ran a set of S4 GXL seats for a while in my old SA. Now I'm rocking stock seats with fresh vinyl.

It's not an RX7, but they would look good in my SA in yellow :)

WJM What a good job matching fabric, that attention to detail is what makes a difference.

Yes Thanks, took me weeks going through many books of materials to finally choose the material I did. Original material is not made any more so had to change it.

I just upgraded to some fc seats.

7addict 07-07-14 04:43 PM

rotor those are sweet leather convertible seats looks like. Did you have to modify anything much and did you purchase those separately or have a donor car. How much if you purchased separate so I have an idea what I can score some for.

Cant beat a recaro. Just came back from a 3hr round trip around LA (the famous LA traffic) in my RX-3 with no AC.. My back didnt break a sweat despite its currently in the 90s

I actually got them for free, just had to pick them up. They came from a friends associate. The only thing that needed to be modified was the inner seat rail on the drivers side. The front bolt doesnt line up with the mounting hole on the floor board. It MAY be possible to transplant the fb seat rails, but i havent checked. I plan to enlongate the hole in the fc seat rail so that i can secure it down. Also just scored some rear seats that will be getting installed soon (doing those so that my 3 year old can go on rides with me)

RX-8 manuals (lightest of what are VERY heavy seats if you go the leather/electric route).
I've been a 95% OE fanatic, then I just got goofy seeing the rotor-shaped headrest design...
(*cough* hypocrite!)
Happily, blends nicely with the gray/black trim mix on my SA.
