What order to do modifications?

I am just asking what order you think I should do the following to my car. Some are exterior/interior fixes other are performance. What kind've gains will I see from the K&N, Coils, Fan, Exhaust and Wire set? If you can also think of anything else that could improve performance please post what it is and a link to where it can be boughten. Thanks.

42.95 - K&N Air Filter

A friend of my fathers will do a paintjob for my car for around $500-600. I am thinking to get that done because from what I hear paintjobs are expensive as hell in a shop.

I would also like to get a new carburator but don't know what would fit onto my 85 12a. Any help there would be appreciated.

Personally, I'd go with the exhaust first. If the cats are original, then they'll be starting to clog up which is bad news for the engine. Plus you'll get great performance gains and a bit better mileage. What does your 616.00 include? I managed to get both the Racing Beat presilencer and header for 150cdn used of course but a major difference from my stock system. Car now runs a bit cooler in addition to better mileage.

Exhaust, intake, ignition, fuel delivery. That's the sequence I'd follow.

The only bargins on your list are the paint job and the exhaust. Everything else is over-priced and and can be sourced else where cheaper. i.e. the e-fan can be found at a local parts store for about $50 less, get a set of NGK wires and the buy the moulding used.

VB does have some good had to find parts, but try to find them local first, they are often cheaper that way.

Exhaust, fuel delivery, intake, ignition, lightweight flywheel and clutch, 4.44-4.88 R&P, fan, alt, port job.

You can go to
www.racingbeat.com
www.mazdatrix.com
www.rotaryshack.com
www.atkinsrotary.com

and a few others to get all sorts of preformance items. Some cost more than others so shop around.

the above posts are good but if I were you, I would do it this way:

1. Upgrade to FC fusebox (this will eliminate the clutter in ur battery terminal)
2. Use fiero, taurus or other junkyard fan.
3. Use NGK spark plug wires - there is nothing wrong with them. In fact, I have them in my MSD direct fire.
4. DLDFIS
5. The savings u get from 1-4, you can use that to buy the headers from RB. Forget about the complete exhaust system. They are too restricted and you cant really feel the advantage of having a headers.

Just trying to help ya save $$$ for a ported motor or a turbo. ;)
