You need the GSL-SE oil pan and any 1st gen. front cover. The SE front cover is preferable though because it has the boss for the oil return. SE and 12A mounting brackets are the same.

Using this method you will need to slot the crossmember and mounting bracket 10mm each to account for the extra length of the 13B.

The alternative is to use the Racing Beat bracket which is made to fit a 13B into a 12A car.

Yes, the GSL-SE front cover and pan are the best way to go. By the way, these are still available brand new from the factory. We sell the pair for $299, in case you are interested. I mention that because used ones seem to command a premium, when you can even find them, and the new parts are not that much more.

In addition to the two options for mounting provided by REVHED, there is a third option: use the GSL-SE front crossmember, with the extended mounting brackets. It's not always the best option (I usually just slot the holes) but it's worth keeping in mind if you find a GSL-SE parts car.

All great advise so far.

I noticed you are in CA.....is this gonna be smog legal and most importantly, what year is the engine?

The S4 87-88 engines are mechanically similar to the SE engine,so they take less work to swap. The S5 89-92 engines are a bit different and require some specific steps to be taken in order to retain the stock ECU and smog legality.Ive done both to my car, both of which were/are CA smog legal. If that is your goal, then I can offer advise on routes to take.Just search first, its been covered and covered to death. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask or PM me.
