What model driving lights are you using?

In relation to all the recent threads about lighting. Im just curious to see what everyone else is using and what your experience with mounting is. Personally im thinking about buying some rectangular hella's or cibies, and mounting them below the bumper.

Any other ideas?

82streetracer 01-22-03 04:10 PM

I dont know what model or make I have, I got them off a junker car at my dealership, but there very nice, I think there catz.

they are 4 in diameter, halogen. They are mounted right behind the stock grill, about 1.5 feet apart.

85RX7GS 01-22-03 06:30 PM

Driving lights? I think mine are Sylvania...

Sammymatik 01-22-03 06:42 PM

I'm also probably gonna go with some some hella's down below somewhere. I want the offroad lights though... whatever wattage they are? 200W? 300?

The lights with the range of 1500-2000ft! :D

82streetracer 01-22-03 06:49 PM

carefull,
i dont know the specs on mine, but I know they do draw a fare amount of current, what do those 2000ft ones draw

HELLA H4 with a HID system added on !!! best lighting upgrade you could possibly do!

yayo420 01-22-03 07:12 PM

I got some $25 Pilots mounted where the lower grill is.....They work pretty good for cheap lights

inittab 01-22-03 07:17 PM

The only external driving / fog lights I've seen that look decent are the ones mounted in the IMSA air dam. Can anyone post pics of theirs that'll change my mind?

MarkPerez 01-23-03 02:11 AM

I've got a pair of slim line 55 watt ( no brand ) clear driving lights installed in my mode four. behind clear covers. i'm thinking of installing square headlights in the same place.

Maguire 01-23-03 06:37 AM

Okay 680... Im looking to spend UNDER $400, like maybe 200 at max. so xenon is kinda out of the question.

Can anyone post pics of theirs that'll change my mind?
yes pics would be good!

I was doing some research, I dont know if anyone is farmilar with it, but im looking for something similar to the hella rallye. Pattern thats wide enough to see the sides of the road, but also gives some distance over the hi beams. Any suggestions?

SoRRoW 01-23-03 07:21 AM

I got some $30-$35. Pilots rectangle yellow beam under my bumper. They help for what I need them for..

I got some nice vids of me at the track at night with me running them cause you need to run the running lights..and they are connected to my running lights..they are bright as hell

gslse13b 01-23-03 07:41 AM

Ive got some halogens that I bought with the car, their mounted under the bumper, they look real nice, just got to rewire to get em to work

Do you have a pic of these? I'd be interested in seeing what this looks like...

RacerX7fb 01-23-03 03:23 PM

I have Hella Optilux 4" round driving lamps inside the airdam...they are bright.

MikeLMR 01-23-03 03:36 PM

Go for the largest reflector diameter you can get, then stick some 100W bulbs in and you're sorted !

I'd like a lamp pod like this if anyone knows where to get one :)

using bosch rectangulars, i've had a set on 2 sevens so far. i like 'em! strangely enough, i've never had to buy a pair. all my sevens seem to come stock with the bosch's.

MAGUIRE , , if you are on a budget get the hella h4 headlights, they have that wide pattern you are talking about, they cost $120.00 for the pair with the bulbs, 60/55w, there much better than stock!!!!

bcty 01-24-03 01:51 AM
