what happens when rear spring breaks?

Hey guys, I think my right rear suspension is broken, but I can't see anything wrong with it (no jacks, so i'm going by a "face on the ground with a flashlight" approach). The right rear wheel is about 2 inches lower than the left rear wheel (so the fronts are about an inch different as well). Anyway, I don't have any exact measurements, but about how much clearance should there be between the top of the tire and the wheel well? (i have an 84 gsl-se)

I never heard of that happening. How is it riding?

ummm, i think it's pretty damn hard to "Break" a spring.

well it happens, and if you car is sagging considerably from the other side it's a viable possibility.

Oki...were you trying to jump a 10 foot tall curb?

What you describe, (2 inches lower) sounds like a spring problem. You should definitely be able to tell (since they are coil). Look at the springs from top to bottom. If you see a disconnect or a disproportionate spacing between each coil, then it's probably the spring. If not, then re-post.

umm I think it might be your operator valve malfunctioning they are a really expensive part and I have another one so maybe you should just sell the car to me.LOL just kidding hope you figure it out.
