What do u think this is worth?

Hello all, hope you can help me. I have an opportunity to buy a very nice 85 GSL-SE, I'll post what it has, please tell me what you think its worth. Also please indicate US or CDN with your estimate. Thanks in advance.

Black GSL-SE, only 2 previous owners, I would be the 3rd.
Never winter driven and garage stored.
No accidents
No rust
Original paint in good condition which has a few minor door dings, a couple scuffs and a considerable amount of stone chip damage to the hood. All body imperfections are not noticable until you are within about 4 feet of car.
ENGINE / Suspension
64,000 miles / 100,000 km on engine.
K+N Filter
3 Performance coils
Racing Beat Header and Presilencer
Tokiko (non-adjustable) shocks
MSD Ignition
Duel alt pulley
Core Racing 15" alloy wheels with AVON ZZ1 tires
INTERIOR
Window tinting 30% rear, 15% side
Custom Alpine CD Stereo, with B-12 amp 4x60rms and kappa speakers.
Custom leather shift boot with momo shift knob.
Car alarm
The interior is mostly clean with minor to no imperfections in the leather seats.
Carpet is badly faded in the hatch area.
a/c works and runs hard
no parts on vehicle are broken, all interior parts are in perfect working order.

Pictures available here

Thanks again

Is that never winter driven or garage stored, or never winter driven but garage stored instead? ;)

I'd say for a GSL-SE, if there is truly no rust...

$3-5K (or above) or at least, that's what the owner hopes to get out of it. Of course, some of the cheaper folks here are going to say that's an $1800 car... Personally, I think they're wrong :D

The low miles add to what the owner wants and cars like that have gone for over $7K (again, USD) on ebay.

The car was garaged stored and not driven during the winters. This past summer here in Canada it was kept outside, prior to that I do not know. It originally came from the Denver area where it was assumed it was garage stored as it was owned by a collector of exotics.

I guess after 17yrs he realized that this would never be a collector.

And YES there truly is no rust.

And now in a massive conflict of interest, we have the seller with over 500 posts on this forum in this thread showing off the car :D

i told him where I posted the pictures I was wondering about the new ip hitting my site...LOL

Well, they're beautiful pics, and it's definitely a beautiful car that has been well taken care of and well-loved.

I'd say my $5-7K range USD is spot on.

pratch 09-09-03 09:35 AM

So in Canadian dollars, that's between

6853.50 - 9594.90

with 6K USD being 8224.20

*exchange rates current as of 10:32AM Eastern Time.

:D

I wouldn't pay more than $6000 CAN for ANY GSL-SE, unless is was fresh off the showroom floor.

pratch 09-09-03 10:17 AM

Fresh off the showroom floor, they went for $18K... :D

IMO, I would value the car about 3k-4k. I would never pay more than 4k or so for a 1dt gen unless it had some serious engine stuff done like a monster turbo engine or something. Your car looks really nice but i think realistically to make it actually sell you would have to ask about 3500 or so. I mean you can sell stuff for really expensive but it just takes for ever.

Guys - sorry for the double thread on the same car - I didn't know this potential buyer would be using the forum for feedback. As an update, he is no longer interested due to my asking price and I'm not movin -
Evolv was gracious enough to allow me the use of his website for viewing (Thanks K).
Anyway, chances are I won't get what I'm asking (at least not this time of the year - maybe never) - problem is, once Spring hits again, I won't want to sell anyway.
BTW, interesting feedback on the price;)

pratch 09-09-03 01:23 PM

Refer to my original post.

Most FB owners are cheapskates :D

(I'm not exempt from that - I like my bargains too - I just have a realism streak in me)

Good 1st gens are a bit rarer, up here in the Great White North.
Especially out west.

But for that car, I personally wouldn't pay more than $5000, asuming it's as mint as you say, and that's pushing it...
