What coil for direct fire mod?

I have searched but wanted to be sure before i bought....to do the direct fire mod on my FB what coil do I need to get from a 2gen car? Anybody have a picture of the coil so I can idiot proof myself and be sure i get the correct one?

Thanks!

Leading coil. You also need the ballast resistor that comes with them (it's down in the base, which you should already know).

Here's what you need Barron. This one arrived in the mail the day before yesterday, I got it from RX7Club member rotary-guy by checking the for sale listings in the 2nd gen section. $20 shipped.

Don't forget theres also some better options but for a first time ignition mod, I think
the 2G coil is a no brainer.

A no brainer. And Made by Mazda! (Hint: Tim puts GM parts in his SA)

Lol...at this point in my life, I have been the ford vs chevy route, mazda vs toyota (and datsun) route, and yamaha vs suzuki route....I have realized as long as it runs i dont care if the part was made by a one armed fat guy named cletus...lol

Ray you do realize once i scrounge a coil you have to go out to the silver one and take some pictures for me dont ya?

And on the Silver One (the tacky rubber 2nd gen strut covers weren't my idea)

And here's one that Greg installed in the Twisted Tavern parking lot at an OGTA meeting a few months ago, it was his first one, took him less than 30 minutes

And here's a few of Tim's Detroitus (just kidding Tim, you know I aspire to have GM parts in the Silver One some day)

You guys are going to be camping out, right? Hmmmmm.......

Common Tim, lets see the pictures. Surely they'll withstand the internet sensors.

I mean, GM parts in an SA is a perversion, but it's such a rare fetish that the internet police probably don't know about it yet.

Common, post up some photos and a few schematics so folks who want some good ole American Spark can get some.

Yep we will be camping and drinking beer and things.

My sig has a link to the thread about the HEI/TFI ignition. Check it out for pics.
