What can a stock GSL-SE fuel pump push?
 

My engine needs more fuel (it has the old 12a pump) and I was wondering if I could just upgrade to a GSL-SE pump with a FPR. Is it a direct swap? Can it push decent lph?

It'll push about 35+ PSI more than a stock carbed 12A will need :D

Agreed - trying to get more pressure to a carb by using an EFI pump is 1) not a direct swap, and 2) overkill of the highest order.

Look into standard carburator fuel pumps to fix the problem. IME, getting a good quality fuel pressure regulator (adjustable) is critical to tuning a carb for best performance.

For your future reference, the EFI fuel pumps in SE cars will push 45-65psi at high volume - this will quickly burst your fuel lines all along the way and likely overpower your carb significantly. Your fuel mileage thereafter would suffer...

Get a carter fuel pump for a carb. Don't try to use a FI pump on the carb.
It will make like simple to get a carter or walbro. They are on e-bay all the time.

In haste left out some really needed info. My setup is not a 12a, I just have a 12a pump in the car ATM. I have a "moderately high" FI engine. It requires 58-psi and I was hoping I could just swap in a FI 13b fuel pump as a direct swap. Was also hoping the pump could push enough fuel . I have a FPR all setup and ready as well as a fuel filter, just need the pump now. What are the easiest swaps for better FI pumps? Is there a Walbro that is fairly simple to install? What are most of the high HP turbo guys running? I hate messing with fuel setups. Thanks for the replies already.

The one in the ebay link above is an in tank pump. It will need modification to work on a 1st gen. Get the inline walbro pump instead.

Yes you will need the inline pump and this one will be the best one for your setup.

The pump scene is completely new to me, do I want to disconnect my current pumps electrical connections and let the inline walbro pull through it? Do I remove the pump completely and run a new line for the Walbro? Do I run them both on the same line while they both run? (I have the 58 PSI FPR, fuel lines, and FF setup already for a bigger pump. Just need some quick info on how much work it is) Hoping this is just, cut line, add pump, add electric, connect lines to pump, dont touch anything else, floor it.
