Warlock muffler w/ electronic exhaust bypass on 12a bp

What do u guys think, I want to have my car a quiet as possible on the street. I dont want to attract anymore attention than im gonna get. Its bad enough my car is right hand drive. I want it as quiet as i can get it. I dont mind losing a little bit of power. Im planning on running one of those warlock mufflers from summit with one inlet and two outlets. Then putting one of those electronic bypass cutouts when I want to get on it. Anybody do this on a rotary? I might put my racing beat muffler on there too so I can make it even quieter. I really hate loud street cars.

Got a link for the electronic bypass cutout?

Actually I already ordered this same setup for my GSL-SE. It should be here Monday. I'll keep you posted on how it works. Should be done mid next week.

corkbone 11-15-02 11:08 AM

cool. let us know!

What kind of motor setup are you running it on? Check out http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1872626425 for the cutout. I have seen them go for like $150.00 on hotrod sites. Where did you buy yours from?

These are all Good Ideas. I don't know how well they'd hold up to a Hot Rotary breath though.

That link to the one on Ebay looks nice too.
Check out this Video of it in action

Didn't Sterling do this to his car?

We're going to find out next week how well it holds up when I get it installed. Since it is going on the back of the muffler at the rear of the car it should hold up to the heat just fine.

Is that thing heat protected in anyway? I remember some people talking about these a couple of years ago back on the ls1 forums when I had my transam. The one's in question were designed for maring applications where the exhaust was usually cooled in some way by water. The only other ones I've seen for automotive applications were all mechanical.

I like it, hopefully the closed Y-pipe won't make flow too terrible. But hey who cares, you've got an open dump !!! Keep us posted.

Just got the muffler in (the mail) last night. Gonna look like 2 tips out back but one will have a valve in it. It is at the very rear of the car so I don't anticipate any problems with heat. My friend's Z-28 has headers and no cats. The q-tec is installed right after they collect so it will get really hot. I know the rotary exhaust is much hotter but alot of heat will dissipate through the pipes before it gets to the back of the car. If I had it by the header I would worry. The q-tec is a fairly new product designed exclusively for this application. Hopefully it will be up and runing within the next couple of days.

Good luck, as I plan on doing something similar in the not too distant future (possibly going the efi route).

cool!

keep u p posted. Are you gonna run any presilencers?

rotarygod 11-22-02 09:30 AM

At first I am going to just use my streetport Racing Beat system and just remove the muffler itself and fabricate from there. This is just to see how it will work. I plan on selling that complete system after I finish fabricating the whole new system. I'm just so damn busy right now that I don't have much time to work on it. Yes there will be presilencers at first since the RB system has 2 of them but I may remove them later. That muffler is really just a straight pipe when open. No bumps of any kind. Just a hole at the far end so air can turn into the muffling section. I'm afraid my fillings in my teeth are going to rattle out when that thing is open!!!! corkbone: Go outside one night and tell me if you can hear it from there. I live in Houston!
