VB Remote Door Lock
 

Has anyone installed the remote power door lock kit from VB on their FB?

Any problems or hitches?

Check ebay the price is a little better IIRC I just got this system ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT )

For $40 + shipping. This unit also has the aux button for the hatch and an alarm. You can order the similar system from the same seller without the alarm for $40 less. I have not received the kit yet so I can’t comment on the quality of the seller of the product. I know a few other members have the same system installed hopefully they will pipe up.

^^^ looking for more reviews on this, I want to buy the one without the alarm, so the miata one will work just fine I take it?

I've read the older posts about power door locks - and im still looking for some extra advice - the electrical/wiring isn't my strong point - so i guess i'm going to learn the hard way (hopefully not the to expensively way)

When it comes to something like that, if you have the time to devote to perfecting it to ensure you do it right the first time, it shouldn't be too hard, as long as you take your time. Now, if you're in a bit of a rush or pressed for time, you might want to have someone do it for you professionaly, that way you won't have to stress if it'll keep on working.

Look at the guys other auctions, he lists the same kit under 100 different car names and if you read the auction it states that it is a universal kit. Sellers add the make and model to the title so people will think their universal kits are vehicle specific and thus special.

I will post an update when I receive the kit and a full review with pictures once I get installed. Check back in mid-April for the full install review with pictures.

I will let you know how good the instructions are that are suppose to be included with my kit. Over all I don't think it is hard justs lots of running wires.

two wires to each door. Blue and Green. Connect Blue to positive and green to negative and the door will unlock. Connect green to positive and blue to negative, the door will lock. Put it though a relay. The relay is a must. If you want a wiring diagram for the relays, ill make one.

i remember a positive review on here for the VB kit a while back, they said the part that was longest was adjusting how high/low the lock tab thing went when you pushed the button

what is the point of an alarm. I hear alarms go off, I just think, man they should turn that off............

Ordered mine tonight, I don't care about the flashy alarm, I just want keyless entry. With the widebody I don't plan on parking it and leaving it anywhere where I will need an alarm.
