Update 3-19-05
 

I bought an Optima Red Top from work right before I left. I installed it and the car almost started once. I didn't even have to use starter fluid. I think it's worse when I use starter fluid. I'm going to do some more things tomorrow when my dad gets home to help me. I can tell the starter turns much quicker now. I just don't know if fuel is being sucked in. I'm going to take my zip tie off of the OMP arm until I get it started. The guy who rebuilt the motor some oil in the engine so it won't have to dry start. I may have too much oil and not enough fuel. Anyways. I'm getting excited. I may get a chance to push it tomorrow. Post any other things I should try to get her started.

I got my streetport broke in finally it runs good on old housings. Im getting a dellorto 48 in the mail in a few days and should really make it run. Im going to head up to tulsa mabye next weekend and I could probably head up to where your at.

That would be cool. Owasso is only 15 minutes from where I work in Tulsa. And that's going through a giant construction zone. I'd love to see your car. I should be off Saturday. Hopefully mine will be running by then. You coming to the Spring BBQ in May?

I feel for all the automatic first gen owners. Roll starts are just part of owning a FB, including getting that rebuild started for the first time. Everywhere I go on a day to day basis I try to make sure to park in a spot that I can roll away from. I have never been able to teach my cars what a jump start is, they always insist on a push when they get to feeling under the weather.

If you have not gotten it running by next weekend, I may be able to come and try giving a hand. I live in Tulsa, and it wouldn't be far to drive to Owasso. I haven't messed with this type of carb setup, but I have tuned many different types of engines for street and track purposes.

I don't have an auto tranny ::cough:: blasphemy ::cough:: but I bet it does suck. I might have to push mine to get it to start because of some carburetor nonsense.

That'd be great. I probably will have to hit you up. I can work on her tomorrow evening with my dad, but I'll probably just check to see if fuel is getting into the barrels of the carb. I knwo the carb gets fuel to the banjo bolt.
