Update on the 12aT
I've rebuilt the engine again now since I cracked the backplate and seized the front stationary gear bearing. It's running good now, tuning is close but still too lean so I won't be boosting until the new jets get here. I'll try to get some pics for you guys soon since I havn't taken any of the new weber setup yet. Today I picked up a GSL rearend, tockico illumina struts, ST springs, ST front sway bad, and a new front suspension subframe(mines bent a bit). All the new suspension stuff will be on in a couple weeks, need to rebuild the calipers and resurface the rotors. So after I get that stuff on here's the new mod list for my car:
1985 GS 12a streetport- RotaryShack Apex seals, Hayes coolant seals TII turbo Weber 48 DCO-SP Custom Intake Manifold GSL Rearend Tockico Illumina struts ST springs and swaybar SouthBendClutch Ceramic 6puck clutch, sprung hub Tyfoon BOV(no name ricer place, but it was $50 and works good) 2.5" stainless exhaust 13x7 diamond racing wheels with yokohama DOT legal slicks Still the stock clutch fan and beehive oil cooler :) I cant wait until I get the suspension on and the tuning done. 1/4mile calculator says it'll run 12.3, I doubt it's quite that fast, but it should definatly go high 12's. |
WOOOOOOT!!!!!! kick ass and take names! :D i can't wait to get my 45 ;)

I still want a ride in that thing :D

You seem to know what your talking about, but the setup your running is quite crappy by honest opinion. The one thing that is nice is the weber setup, which isnt very hard to tune for a expert. looking back on your older posts, I'd say your port style isnt going to work very well for turbo use, quite possibly not at all. I hope your expectations for this car are low, as everything above that wouldnt make much sense at all. But good luck with it, slow ass!!!!! :rlaugh:
Did I mention this will be slow? Oh yeah I did. ALso you better stock the rear plates in bulk, because all will break with your current underthought setup. :bigthumb: :bigthumb: :bigthumb: :bigthumb: |

It ran on alcohol. I blew the engine from a miscalculation of thermal stress, which turned out to be a simple addition problem in an easy line of multivariate calculus equations. Take it from THE expert, do some more research on the project because I said so.

Hey coldy, sounds good, cant wait to see some new pics.

You guys friends or something? 7 whole posts and I bet he has been negative in all of them. Just looked them up he's a negative fuck. |
Anyone notice how he has a custom tagline, but only 7 posts? Something tells me that the mods in another forum killed his post count 'cause he was postwhoring with negative shit.
Either that, or that's another glitch of the new forum. But he should be "Registered User" or something like that. What ever happened to "Exhaust Leak" "Rotorite" "Spinner" "Insane Burnout" and "No Life"?? Bring those back!!! Jon |

I went kinda big on the exhaust, which spools the TII turbo immediatly. The second I touch the gas I'm on boost. And on the intake I went with a mild streetport, which makes it so the TII turbo can keep up at at least 14psi all the way to 8k rpm. Seems to me that it's a perfect design for street driving. As for the rear plates, that'll be the only one I break. In a week or two I'll have the right jets here and I'll be running it slightly rich and conservative on the timing to make sure nothing happens. Plus, I don't really give a fuck how long this engine lasts, because I've also got a set of studded plates sitting here in my garage just waiting to get better housings to machine since the only other housings I have are fucked. Oh, and yes, I studded the motor by myself. Do you know what work is involved in studding a motor? Fuckoff, get the fuck out of my thead, and go die in a fire. -Matt |
WOOT WOOT for matt :D
and go die in a fire. |
Can't you tell he's just being sarcastic?
|
either that or he has a small penis and likes to act tough hiding behind his computer
|
This is just a wild quess but he could just be a troll.
|
Yeah, he probably is a troll, but I just felt like going off on him anyway, just incase :)
|
any wurd on some jets? :D
|
Robert send more jets and emulsion tubes today. Gonna try some F2 tubes, which are rich as hell. If it wont work right with that, then I'm gonna use the F11 with a lot bigger jet, and I'll probably need to play with the air bleed a bit, can't really tell which way it needs to go.
